Gary Letona

Gary Letona is a contemporary composer whose music blends lyrical melodies drawn from exotic scales with jazz-influenced harmonies, creating a distinctive sound that is both evocative and accessible. Born in El Salvador in 1975, Letona is a full-time world-traveler with stops planned for Asia, Eastern Europe, and South America. He brings his diverse background to his musical work as a composer and performer.

His principal instruments are bassoon, bass guitar, and piano, giving him a broad perspective on melody, harmony, rhythm, and instrumental color. His performance experience includes appearances with the Capistrano Valley Symphony, Santa Ana Symphony Orchestra, and Rehabbed, a tribute to Amy Winehouse where he was music director.

Letona was an intern with the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players and studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Chapman University, where he also served as General Manager of KNAB-FM. His compositions have been performed throughout California and Nevada.
